Hi, I’m Denise. I’m in perimenopause, and this site is where I share what’s actually helping my sleep, energy and hot flashes, along with what other women report and what the research says.

“I was waking up what looked like every ten minutes all night. Now my sleep scores are in the 80s and 90s.”Denise Walsh, author
My story
About a year ago my body started changing on me. My energy dropped, my sleep fell apart, and the night sweats and hot flashes showed up. My Oura ring showed me waking up what looked like every ten minutes, all night. I tried magnesium first, and it didn’t do much for me.
About two months ago I started She+ by Immunotec as an early tester. My sleep came back, my energy came back with it, and my hot flashes calmed way down. I wrote up everything in my She+ review.
How I write
- Real experience. When I talk about what I’ve tried, it’s what actually happened to me.
- Real sources. Facts and studies are linked to the original research or a trusted health source.
- Reviewed by a nurse. Every health article is reviewed for accuracy and safety before it’s published.
Medical reviewer: Jesse Ovlasuk, RN
Jesse is a registered nurse who works in the intensive care unit (ICU) at a hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He earned his nursing degree from Grand Valley State University. Jesse reads every health article on Treat Hot Flashes before it’s published and checks that medical facts match their sources, that safety warnings and “talk to your doctor” guidance are included where they matter, and that nothing promises to treat, cure or prevent a condition. His review isn’t an endorsement of any product.
Full disclosure
My husband, Brandon, does freelance marketing work for Immunotec, the company that makes She+, the product I use. I received She+ free as an early tester. When a post mentions She+, I’ll always say so.
